Eagle District Day Camp
Achievements earned
June 4-8, 2007
The following activities were scheduled at the June Boy Scout Day Camp and all scouts who attended are eligible for their belt loop, pin or arrow point. Packs can use the list below to check against their camp attendance list to see if scouts have earned these. Following this guide should give you the awards your scouts should receive at the first pack meeting in the Fall.
Note: Webelos have earned parts of their arrow of light requirements and I have listed those below. They must earn the belt loops again for their requirements so I have listed those also.
- Archery: Cubs (Tues/Wed) Webelos (Mon/Wed)
- Belt loop-Rules were explained, archery techniques were learned and practice done ____
- Pin-String a bow, demonstrated how to use archery equipment, learn scoring techniques, archery target, and facts about archery ____
- BB’s: Cubs (Mon/Wed) Webelos (Tues/Thurs)
- Belt loop-Safety rules learned, demonstrate shooting techniques, and practice done ____
- Pin-Load bb gun, shooting positions, scoring techniques, improvement in shooting, and facts about shooting ____
- Fishing: Cubs (Mon/Wed) Webelos (Tues)
- Belt loop-learn fishing regulations, bait a hook, and try to catch a fish ____
- Pin-Learn three kings fish/habitat, fishing tournament (camp), casting proficiency,
make a simple fishing pole, and practice fishing ____
- Music: Cubs (Tues/Thurs) Webelos (Mon/Thurs)
- Pin-Learn why music important, learn song and listen to different types music ____
- Pin-Make musical instrument and play for pack, learn song, play in a group, perform two songs with different patterns, and voice lesson with teacher (camp) ____
- Geology: Cubs/Webelos (Thurs)
- Belt loop-Define geology, show and learn about three types of rocks and differences between rocks and minerals ____
- Pin-Collection of rocks/minerals (hardness scale) Different types of rock, effects of winds, water and ice on landscape, different parts of volcano, five different fossils and visit with geologist ____
- Ultimate Frisbee: Cubs/Webelos (Mon)
- Belt loop-Learn rules, practice and play game ____
- Volleyball: Cubs/Webelos (Tues.) and Free Practice
- Belt loop-Rules learned, practice and game ____
- Badminton: Cubs/Webelos (Tues)
- Belt loop-Rules learned, practice and game ____
- Flag football: Cubs (Wed)
- Belt loop-Rules learned, practice and game ____
Different rank advancements:
- Tiger: Song time (6), play along (7), make a model (pirate’s chest) (17), magic fun (19), picnic elective (22), safety in the sun (29), fun outdoors (35), see a performance (36) (Friday Camp Performance). These electives were completed at camp.
- Wolf: Play a group game(4f), Sing along (11d/f),Outdoor adventure (16a/b/c/d/f), Fishing (10a/b/c/d/e/f), Sports (20a/c/j/k/n/o), Let’s go camping-buddy system (23d). These should get the scouts a gold and silver arrow point.
- Bear:
- Achievements-Family fun (10a), Family outdoor adventures (12b/c/d), Games (15a/b/c), Build a model (21a), Typing it all up (22e), Sports (23a/c).
- Electives-Space (1-made can with constellation punched), Cub scout band (8 made instrument, played at camp meeting with pack, learned and played two songs), Magic (13 learned/showed three magic tricks, put on magic show- camp, learned/show puzzles and three rope tricks), Sports (20a/f)
- Webelos:
- Earned new belt loops above.
- Craftsman-met 1,3,4 reguirements,
- Geologist-met 1,2,3,5, 7, 9 requirements.
- Showman-met requirements 9,15.
- Music beltloop.
